Summary
During my 15+ years tenure as a rowing coach, starting in the fall of 1987, I have worked extensively with high school, club level and pre-elite/elite level athletes. I am adept in the development of high school rowing teams and have instructed all levels of junior rowing. I have worked with novice and varsity level atheletes, men and women, and lightweight rowers. Furthermore I have experience working with adolescents faced with difficult teen issues including anorexia nervosa and pregnancy. I am proficient in coaching both sweep and sculling technique, rigging, boat repair, and boat trailering.
It is my goal as a coach to teach the skills of the sport to those I work with in such a way that they are not only successful, but enjoy their experience as well. If the athlete has a positive outlook on their experiences and has learned things about themself and life also, then I have succeeded.
