Expert Advice is only an Email Away!2002 USRowing Convention Speaker, consultant to the University of Tulsa Crew, Mt. Holyoke College Crew, and many others!Sometimes tools are not enough. Sometimes you need someone to bounces ideas off of, to ask questions of, to be an extra set of eyes in the launch. Let me help you learn and excel! I'm happy to offer the following services: Coxing Clinics: novices or experienced coxswainsI am happy to give clinics for teams or clubs. I prefer to work in small groups of 10-15 people so that we can get to the heart of the subject but am happy to consider large groups as well. We can work in a classroom setting, or if you prefer I have also ridden in launches offering feedback to both the coxswains and coach. A combination of the two is the most effective! Coach, Team, or Booster ConsultationI have been lucky enough to work with a pretty diverse cross section of the rowing community including: high school booster groups, college coaching staffs, and national level club programs. Sometimes a different perspective is what's needed in offering up new ideas on how to make your program more effective. You provide me with the details, the questions or concerns, and the opportunity to see and work with your program and I can help you to make things more enjoyable, fun, and competitive! Coxswain Audio FeedbackThe best way for a experienced coxswain to learn and improve is to critique their performance on the water. I offer the chance to share your audio tracks (tape, CD-audio, or MP3) and get feedback on the best ways to improve. I'll evaluate your tone of voice, diction, word choice, information dissemination, verbal timing, and use of emotion. The idea is not for me to criticize, but to critique and give you the feedback you need to be the best coxswain you can be. Every coxswain has something to learn. Interested? Why wait? If you'd like more information or would like to discuss the possibility of me working with you or your program just drop me a line:
George, Our daughter, coxed her final HS race on Saturday at the Schuylkill river. Her result was similar to yours in your last HS race... Many thanks, and I know you are tired of hearing this, but you were part of the reason she stuck it out in crew. I look forward to even more happy memories in the next 4 years at college. ~Joe, proud father of a hs cox |
